Kick start your day at ENGenious with this Business Breakfast (organised by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce) which takes place immediately before the symposium opens its doors and learn how digital advancements are re-shaping the future of upstream activities in exploration and production.

Aberdeen is leading the way as a hub of innovation and this breakfast will provide you with a better understanding of exactly what advances are taking place and give indications to how the industry may look in the future.

    Who will you hear from?

Aberdeen-based Return to Scene (R2S) is leading the digital trend in the region with its groundbreaking innovations in augmented reality (AR) and is making considerable digital impacts in the industry.
Managing director Bob Donnelly will explore how the company’s recent development R2S AR is making significant impacts in the offshore industry along with displaying how the combination of augmented and mixed reality technology can reap significant benefits.
From augmented to physical, emergency shut down (ESD) valves are designed to stop the flow of a hazardous fluid upon detection and are essential to the oil and gas industry. Despite ESD valves being crucial to the industry, they give little indication and limited information on underlying conditions that may cause potential issues.
Richard Harvey will discuss how IMI Precision Engineering’s simple non-invasive method monitors valve closure which further enables operators to uncover faults through extensive test coverage and increase confidence in ESD performance and safety.

The unleashing of the digital revolution has truly impacted everyday life. Where using new technologies to make our lives simple is straight forward, cultivating advances within the business world takes imagination and time to ensure there’s capacity.

Servelec’s divisional director Ronald Holden will present on the use of real-time information systems within business and how adopting a progressive data model can transform a big idea to reality which will deliver value to customers.
