Engenious FAQs

When will ENGenious 2020 now take place?

The ENGenious 2020 virtual event will take place in September 2020, on the same dates as the original proposed face to face event, from 22nd  to 24th September 2020.

What about already booked travel and hotel accommodation?

You will have to contact the respective tour operator, airline and hotel you made your booking with and check your travel insurance.

Why have you decided to redesign the event?

Following the escalation of COVID-19 in Europe and the importance of the health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and staff, we made a decision to redesign the event ahead of any ongoing restrictions from the UK and/or local governments in order to safeguard our participants. We apologise for the inconvenience that the redesign may cause.

We feel that amid the health and travel concerns during this challenging period, a virtual event will be the best for all concerned – allowing us to deliver on the work and vision we have in store for you – straight to your screen.

As an event focused on the digital future for the energy industry, we are even more relevant as we deliver the content, networking and discussion virtually. We will redesign the event to accommodate the excellent programme of keynotes, plenary panels and speakers in an online and interactive format. Both SPE and Reed Exhibitions deliver online events and have suitable platforms already in use.

How will this affect attendance?

Virtual events are proven and powerful models of engagement and are ideally suited for the thought leadership content you are expecting from ENGenious 2020 and we are confident that hosting it live on a digital platform provides all of our registrants the opportunity to join the conversation and participate in the event, no matter what travel restrictions they face. Post-show on demand viewing will also be available to our registrants for increased convenience. We will be sending you details of how to take part in this exciting ENGenious 2020 virtual event in the next few weeks. Please also check the ENGenious website for details.

Why have you not just cancelled the 2020 event?

Feedback from our stakeholders is that they very much want the event to go ahead this year and, as organisers, we want to be able to deliver the expected value to those organisations. Furthermore, as an event focused on the digital future for the energy industry, we have the opportunity to be even more relevant in the space.
