Abstract:

Control and Automation technology is evolving at a rapid pace, utilising IT technology and network protocols which make connectivity and data sharing much easier .  The greater connectivity capability is enabling great opportunity to reduce risk to people, optimise plant operations and predict equipment failure. It also brings an increasing risk of cyber security events as the enabling connectivity provides the opportunity to those who want to exploit it. Shell has a adopted a standard approach globally to mitigate this this risk combining People, Processes and Technology.
